Easy English Butter Toffee Bars

Ingredients
- 24 unsalted saltine crackers
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 (6 ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels
- pecan halves
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 375°.
- 2 butter a 13x9 baking pan.
- 3 arrange saltines right side up in a single layer in pan.
- 4 melt butter and sugar over medium heat.
- 5 bring to boil, boil 3 minutes stirring occasionally.
- 6 remove from heat.
- 7 stir in vanilla.
- 8 pour over crackers, spread evenly with spatula.
- 9 bake for 5 minutes, if crackers move, rearrange with a fork.
- 10 cool for about 10 minutes.
- 11 sprinkle chocolate morsels over top.
- 12 let stand about 5 minutes the evenly spread over top.
- 13 cool completely, then cut in 2x1 inch bars.
- 14 place a pecan half over each piece.
- 15 store in refrigerator.
