Chocolate Ice Box Cake

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 12 ladyfingers (split)
  • 1 package sweet chocolate
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons water
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup prepared whipped topping
  • 1 egg , stiffly beaten

Recipe

  • 1 line 8"x4" loaf pan with wax paper.
  • 2 place 6 ladyfingers on bottom of pan.
  • 3 set aside 6 for the top.
  • 4 cut remaining ladyfingers in half, and place, cut side up, around the sides of pan.
  • 5 melt chocolate in sauce pan over very low heat.
  • 6 blend in water.
  • 7 remove from heat and add egg yolk, beating vigorously until smooth.
  • 8 blend in sugar.
  • 9 cool.
  • 10 fold in whipped topping and egg .
  • 11 pour into pan and top with reserved ladyfingers.
  • 12 chill overnight.
  • 13 unmold and remove paper.
  • 14 garnish with additional whipped topping if desired.
