Cherry Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup dried pitted cherries, coarsely chopped
• 2 tablespoons cherry flavored liqueur or 2 tablespoons dark rum
• 2 cups whipping cream
• 1 cup milk
• 1/2 cup superfine sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
• 3 ounces semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped

Recipe

• 1 mix together the dried cherries and liqueur. set aside.
• 2 in a medium bowl, whisk together cream, milk, sugar, vanilla and almond extract until smooth.
• 3 pour mixture into ice cream maker and freeze. when ice cream is thick add reserved cherries, liqueur and chocolate.
