French Silk Pie

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 2 cups butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 ounces melted unsweetened chocolate
  • 4 teaspoons vanilla
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 chocolate cookie pie crust

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter at low speed.
  • 2 gradually add sugar, creaming well after each addition.
  • 3 blend melted chocolate and vanilla.
  • 4 cool before adding to sugar mixture.
  • 5 cream well.
  • 6 add eggs, one at a time, beating for 3 minutes each; scrape bowl often.
  • 7 it is important to mix this batter well at high speed or the pie will taste grainy.
  • 8 if you get a rich creamy texture you did it right.
  • 9 chill at least 2 hours before serving.
  • 10 i put them in the freezer until needed.
