Fat Free Chocolate Meringue Cookies

Total Time: 3 hrs 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 3 hrs

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large egg whites (or 1 cup egg product)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  • 2 line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • 3 in a small bowl, sift together the cocoa powder and sugar.
  • 4 in a large bowl, beat egg whites cream of tartar and salt with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
  • 5 add the cocoa mixture one at a time, mixing between addittions.
  • 6 add pepperment extract and mix well.
  • 7 drop by rounde tablespoonsonto baking sheets.
  • 8 place in oven for one hour.
  • 9 turn off oven and leave door slightly open.
  • 10 leave cookies for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • 11 store in airtight container.
