Chocolate Gingerbreads

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons minced crystallized ginger
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 large pinch clove
- 1 large pinch cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened dutch process cocoa
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- coarse sugar
Recipe
- 1 beat sugar and butter until fluffy. add egg, molasses, ginger, vanilla, cinnamon, and cloves.
- 2 whisk flour, cocoa, salt, and baking soda. stir into the butter mixture.
- 3 do no chill dough. drop by tablespoonfuls and sprinkle with coarse sugar and bake at 350 8 to 12 minutes.
