Chocolate Fudge Frosting

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 1
  • 4 ounces chocolate, squares
  • 2 ounces unsalted butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted

Recipe

  • 1 put chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl and place over a pan of simmering water, remembering not to let the water touch the bottom of the bowl.
  • 2 stir occasionally till both are melted, add the egg and beat well.
  • 3 remove the bowl from the saucepan and stir in the icing sugar, beat till smooth and glossy.
  • 4 pour immediately over the cake for a smooth finish, or leave to cool for a thicker spreading/piping consistency.
