Grandma Reeds Chocolate Pie

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 egg yolks (reserve whites if topping with meringue)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- 1 pie shell (baked)
Recipe
- 1 mix sugar, flour and cocoa in saucepan.
- 2 add milk, then egg yolks and stir with wire wisk.
- 3 cook over medium heat until thick whisking often and being careful not to scortch.
- 4 remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla.
- 5 place filling in baked pie shell and cool.
- 6 once cooled top with meringue and brown or whip cream.
