Gooey Chocolate Caramel Fantasy

Ingredients

- 2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs (about 38 wafers)
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 30 vanilla caramels
- 1/2 cup caramel ice cream topping
- 1/4 cup whipping cream
- 2 cups chopped pecans
- 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate piece
- 1/4 cup whipping cream
Recipe
- 1 in a medium mixing bowl, stir together the chocolate wafer crumbs and melted butter.
- 2 press onto the bottom of a nine inch springform pan.
- 3 bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes.
- 4 cool slightly on a wire rack.
- 5 in a heavy medium saucepan, melt caramels in caramel ice cream topping over low heat,stirring often.
- 6 stir in the first 1/4 cup whipping cream.
- 7 remove from heat; stir in nuts.
- 8 spread over crust.
- 9 cool;cover and chill for one hour.
- 10 for the topping:.
- 11 in a heavy saucepan, melt chocolate.
- 12 remove from heat;stir in remaining whipped cream.
- 13 drizzle or spread over caramel pecan mixture.
- 14 cover and chill for at least one hour.
