Double Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

- 1/3 cup salad oil
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate (2 squares)
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4-1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup walnut pieces or 1/3 cup pecans
Recipe
- 1 in an 8 inch square cake pan, combine oil and chocolate. heat in 350f oven for 4 minutes -- stir.
- 2 add water, sugar, egg, flour, soda, salt and vanilla. beat batter with fork until smooth, uniform and creamy (about 2 mins). spread evenly in pan and sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. bake at 350f for 40 mins until cake tests done.
- 3 great topped with whipped cream flavoured with creme de menthe.
