Green Tea Ice Cream

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 45 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 9 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons green tea powder (matcha)

Recipe

  • 1 mix egg yolks, sugar& vanilla.
  • 2 add cream and half and half.
  • 3 heat over medium heat, stirring continually.
  • 4 mixture will thicken to the consistency of egg nog.
  • 5 do not boil.
  • 6 it is done when the mix coats the back of a spoon.
  • 7 remove from heat and cool.
  • 8 stir in matcha.
  • 9 don't worry if if there are small lumps of the tea, they will break up in the ice cream machine.
  • 10 freeze in ice cream maker.
  • 11 variation: add chocolate chunks.
