Gooey Chocolate Fudge Brownies

Ingredients

- 254 g butter or 254 g margarine
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla
- 3/4 flour, plus
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder, plus
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1/4 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 175c or 350f. line 9 x 13 pan with parchment paper.
- 2 melt butter and sugar in a heavy saucepan on very low heat.
- 3 let the mixture slightly cool and transfer to a large bowl.
- 4 add eggs gradually, mixing well.
- 5 add vanilla extract.
- 6 sift dry ingredients together and add to egg mixture, stirring gently and minimally.
- 7 add chips and nuts, if using.
- 8 pour into the pan and bake approximately 35 minutes. do not overbake!
- 9 cool before cutting. turn onto a surface and peel parchment paper. cut into squares and enjoy!
