Chocolate Amaretto Ice

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 cups light cream or 2 cups half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons amaretto
  • sliced almonds (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 in a small saucepan, stir together sugar and cocoa.
  • 2 gradually stir in light cream and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is melted and mixture is smooth and hot (not boiling).
  • 3 remove from heat and stir in amaretto.
  • 4 pour into an 8 inch square pan.
  • 5 cover and freeze until firm, stirring several times before mixture freezes completely.
  • 6 serve frozen scooped into dessert dishes.
  • 7 garnish with almonds, if desired.
