Chocolate Amaretto Ice

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 2 cups light cream or 2 cups half-and-half
- 2 tablespoons amaretto
- sliced almonds (optional)
Recipe
- 1 in a small saucepan, stir together sugar and cocoa.
- 2 gradually stir in light cream and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is melted and mixture is smooth and hot (not boiling).
- 3 remove from heat and stir in amaretto.
- 4 pour into an 8 inch square pan.
- 5 cover and freeze until firm, stirring several times before mixture freezes completely.
- 6 serve frozen scooped into dessert dishes.
- 7 garnish with almonds, if desired.
