Graham Cracker Cake

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 24 graham crackers, crushed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • 3 egg whites, stiffly beaten

Recipe

  • 1 cream shortening and sugar.
  • 2 add egg yolks and vanilla and beat well.
  • 3 add sifted dry ingredients alternately with graham cracker crumbs and milk.
  • 4 add the nuts.
  • 5 fold in egg whites.
  • 6 divide and bake in 2 -8 inch wax paper lined round layer cake pans.
  • 7 bake at 350 deg. for 25 minute.
  • 8 cool.
  • 9 use your favorite chocolate frosting in between layers and on top.
