Graham Cracker Cake

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 egg yolks, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 24 graham crackers, crushed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup nuts
- 3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Recipe
- 1 cream shortening and sugar.
- 2 add egg yolks and vanilla and beat well.
- 3 add sifted dry ingredients alternately with graham cracker crumbs and milk.
- 4 add the nuts.
- 5 fold in egg whites.
- 6 divide and bake in 2 -8 inch wax paper lined round layer cake pans.
- 7 bake at 350 deg. for 25 minute.
- 8 cool.
- 9 use your favorite chocolate frosting in between layers and on top.
