Chocolate Syrup Brownies

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 16 ounces chocolate syrup
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons milk (may need to add more)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • nuts (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 pre-heat oven to 350.
  • 2 grease a 13x9 pan.
  • 3 for the bars: beat together sugar and softened butter until creamy.
  • 4 add vanilla, eggs and chocolate syrup.
  • 5 blend well.
  • 6 lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
  • 7 stir into chocolate mixture and mix well.
  • 8 pour into prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • 9 cool.
  • 10 for the frosting: melt butter in a saucepan.
  • 11 blend in cocoa and heat just until mixture comes to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • 12 cool.
  • 13 blend in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  • 14 you may need to add additional milk if frosting is too dry.
  • 15 stir in nuts, if you are using them.
  • 16 spread carefully over brownies.
  • 17 let sit for a bit to firm up frosting.
  • 18 enjoy!
