Classic Blondies

Ingredients

- 16 ounces chocolate, baking bars (broken into 1-inch pieces)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cut into small pieces)
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
Recipe
- 1 melt chocolate and butter in double boiler over hot water.
- 2 stir mixture occasionally until smooth.
- 3 beat eggs until foamy; then add sugar, vanilla and chocolate mixture (slowly).
- 4 fold in flour, salt, and chocolate chips (if using) until well combined.
- 5 spoon mixture into a 9" square baking pan with the bottom lined and buttered with parchment paper.
- 6 bake 25 minutes at 350°.
