French Chocolate Meringues

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 48
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate morsel
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup saltine crackers, finely crushed

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 melt chocolate over hot water. remove from water and cool approximately 5 minutes.
  • 3 combine the egg whites and vanilla and beat till stiff but not dry.
  • 4 beat in the sugar gradually till very stiff.
  • 5 fold in the crackers and cooled chocolate.
  • 6 drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheets.
  • 7 bake at 350 f for 10 minutes.
  • 8 remove from pans immediately.
