French Cream Mint Brownies

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 4 eggs
  • 16 ounces chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 -3 drops good green food coloring
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 to make the brownies: cream the sugar and butter together in a mixing bowl.
  • 2 add in the eggs, chocolate syrup, flour, and baking powder; stir to blend.
  • 3 spoon/pour mixture in a greased 15x10 jelly roll pan.
  • 4 bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
  • 5 chill in the refrigerator while making the filling.
  • 6 to make the filling: cream the butter and powdered sugar together in a mixing bowl.
  • 7 add in the milk, peppermint extract, and food coloring; stir to blend.
  • 8 spread evenly over the brownie crust; refrigerate until firm.
  • 9 to make the frosting: melt the butter and chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat; stir constantly.
  • 10 pour evenly over filling.
  • 11 chill slightly; cut into squares.
  • 12 return to refrigerator and chill until firm.
