Grasshopper Squares

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 3/4 cup margarine or 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/4 teaspoon mint extract
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup margarine or 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon mint extract
- 6 drops green food coloring
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 325º.
- 2 grease 13x9 inch pan.
- 3 in large bowl, beat ¾ cup powdered sugar and ¾ cup margarine until light and fluffy.
- 4 stir in melted cooled chocolate.
- 5 lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
- 6 add flour, baking powder, salt, 1 tablespoon milk and ¼ teaspoon mint extract to margarine mixture; mix well.
- 7 dough will be stiff.
- 8 press dough into greased pan.
- 9 bake at 325º for 15-25 minutes or until center is set.
- 10 cool completely.
- 11 in large bowl, blend all topping ingredients; beat til smooth.
- 12 spread over base.
- 13 cut into squares.
- 14 store in fridge.
