Fran's Oatmeal Chocolate Cookie Cake

Ingredients

• Servings: 12
• 1 cup shortening
• 2 cups brown sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 cups quick oatmeal
• 1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 cups nuts, chopped
• 12 ounces chocolate chips
• 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

• 1 cream together the shortening and brown sugar. add eggs - mix well.
• 2 add all other ingredients (except sauce ingredients) and mix well. press all but 2 cups batter into a greased 7x11 inch baking dish.
• 3 melt sauce ingredients together over medium heat. spread over dough. spoon the remaining batter over chocolate mixture.
• 4 bake at 350°f for 20 minutes.
