Chocolate Oatmeal Cake

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons milk (or hot water)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa

Recipe

  • 1 mix oats, water, margarine, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla together well.
  • 2 fold in flour, baking soda, cocoa, and baking powder.
  • 3 bake in 8x8 pan at 350f for 35 minutes.
  • 4 icing: beat butter, milk, and vanilla together, then add icing sugar and cocoa, beat until creamy.
  • 5 ice cake after it has cooled!
