Chocolate Nut Tart

Ingredients

- 1 1/4 cups vanilla wafers, crushed
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup light-colored corn syrup
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/3 cup mini semisweet chocolate piece (i prefer milk chocolate)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper. do not grease.
- 2 in a bowl, combine vanilla wafers, 1/3 cup butter, and granulated sugar. pour mixture into prepared pan, and press mixture evenly over the bottom and sides of the pan.
- 3 in a large bowl, beat eggs with a fork. stir in corn syrup. add brown sugar, ½ cup butter, and vanilla and stir until sugar is dissolved. stir in almonds and chocolate. place prepared pan on a baking sheet. carefully pour filling into pan and bake in a 350°f oven for 40 minutes. remove the outer ring of the springform pan before presentation.
